Now you may remember a post I did on a festival called British Summer Time and i spoke about some of the line up for 2016. 2017 is a massive year for BST as it includes some absolutely huge names and a bunch of UK and European festival exclusives. Now in its 5th year Hyde Park will become the host of an incredible few nights in July. What I like about BST is that there is always something for everyone no matter how old you are there is bound to be an band or artist for you to see. Expect something pretty special from this years huge line up as its possibly one of their biggest line ups to date ! Here who is you can expect to see in 2017.
The first date for BST happens to be a european festival exclusive as the legendary Phil Collins will be playing his biggest solo show to date for the first time in 10 years as he's decided to come out of retirement. He will be bringing the not dead yet tour to Hyde Park on the 30th June which will open the festival that runs throughout the summer. Expect all the classics to sung and it's definitely one to go to if you missed out on getting tickets to one of his Royal Albert Hall shows which managed to sell out in 15 seconds ! You definitely don't want to miss out on seeing Phil Collins if your into that sort of thing. No supports have been confirmed yet but you can expect to see some in the near future.

On the 1st July Green Day will be bringing their revolution radio tour to Hyde Park. After the release of their number one album 'revolution radio' they not long after announced a massive date for the summer at Hyde Park. If you missed the chance to get tickets for the tour then you can always get tickets to see the rock legends. Besides playing songs from their newest album you can expect to hear some of the classic Green Day songs that everyone knows and loves. This is one outdoor gig that no one will forget because its going to be absolutely huge.

This UK festival exclusive happens to be one of the biggest names in pop. That is right Justin Bieber will be bringing his purpose world tour to Hyde Park on the 2nd July. You can expect a lot of dancing and some absolute bangers which might turn Hyde Park into one giant party. Support acts have been announced and honestly its going to be one giant pop extravaganza ! EDM star Martin Garrix will be warming up the crowd with a DJ set before justin bieber graces the stage. Plus the incredible Anne Marie and Swedish star Tove Lo will also be playing on the great oak stage and trust me your not wanting to miss seeing Tove Lo and Anne Marie so make sure you look out for them. If your a big lover of pop or you know someone thats a fan of Biebs then you need to be here in 2017.

After playing a tiny club show in London , Kings of Leon are joining the list of big names who are going to be playing the festival. They will be playing the great oak stage on Thursday 6th July along side some other names that include american rock legends , Pixies who are playing their biggest London date ever and also joining them is Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats who are great if you've not heard of them before i suggest listening to them because S.O.B is my jam. Kings of Leon released their 7th album and of course it went to number one in the album charts. Their BST gig will showcase their best songs along with some of the newer material and honestly it's going to be insane.

This is a strong line up if i never did see one. 2017 is the year that Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers celebrate 40 years. That is a ridiculously long time for a band to be together but to celebrate 40 years with a special gig at Hyde Park is the icing on the cake. This is the only Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers european date that they will be playing and its the 2nd time in 18 years that they've played a show in the UK. The last time they played in the UK was in 2012 at the Isle of Wight Festival when they headlined the Saturday. Also joining them is Stevie Nicks. The singer/songwriter from Fleetwood Mac will be joining her friends to celebrate 40 years together. Stevie is a music legend and for her to be playing Hyde Park is something your really not going to want to miss out on. Joining Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers and Stevie Nicks are The Lumineers. With the success of their first album and Ho Hey they released their 2nd album 'Cleopatra' this year. This will be one of the biggest uk shows to date.  Definitely one for the older generation but if your like me and love music from the past then this is an obvious gig to go to.

So there you have it the 2017 line up. I think there is possibly one more announcement coming soon which will be exciting to see who it is but with a line up so insanely big the team of people who put the line up together have done an excellent job. Besides the gigs there are also free events during the week that you can go to when there aren't any gigs going on and the best part is you don't even have to have a ticket to get in to use thing things that are on offer for the public. 2016 included films being shown on a big screen outside , live music and entertainment , daytime DJ's , a street food market and plenty of other cool things for you to do.

The event started in 2013 when The Rolling Stones relived their 1969 gig and from then on some pretty special things have happened such as The Libertines causing fans to go crazy when they made a surprise return in 2014. In 2015 Taylor Swift brought her 'squad' onstage during her set and last year saw Carole King perform in London for the first time in 30 years playing Tapestry in full for the first time ever. Needless to say BST is a event that always seems to go down in the history books. Whether it be the huge line up or the atmosphere , 2017 is their biggest and most insane year yet. Tickets for the dates mentioned are on sale now and you can find out where to get tickets from and for more details you can go onto http://www.bst-hydepark.com if you want to find out more information.
