3 Songs For January

29.1.16

I love music especially listening to it. January has seen a lot of new songs being released and when i mean a lot there has been loads of very good ones. These songs were taken from my 'music monthly' page that i keep updated every month with songs and albums i have been liking through out the month. If you want to know a bit more about some of the songs that i have been liking then your in luck because if you can tell by the title its about my 3 favourite songs of January !

The 1975 - The Sound
The 1975 have already released two songs in the lead up to their 2nd album which has put Fall Out Boy to shame because the album has the longest name ever. Its so long that i can't even remember it ! The sound has almost a synth pop sound to it along with a choir and a massive build up to an epic guitar solo what more could you ask for really. I'm so happy that they are back with new music especially knowing that it sounds so different to the first album. I think when a band or artist comes out with new music that doesn't sound like their first album i get super excited to see the outcome and i can't wait to hear the 1975's new album if its as good as the 3 songs they have released from it !

Lisbon - Vice
I have big love for this band. If you like The 1975 and Foals then you'll probably like them. Just to mention that they are on tour at the moment so if you want to see them get tickets for that because they are wonderful. Last August they released a song called 'Khaleesi' and it was the first song by them i heard. Now they have come back with a new song called 'Vice'. Seriously its a tune. I found myself dancing around to it when it was played on Huw Stephens show on Radio 1 because its so good !. The song is just fab but I've probably said that more than once now ! The song isn't out until February but you can stream it on Spotify until then.

Enter Shikari - Redshift
It wasn't until last year i discovered that i like Enter Shikari. I remember they played Isle of Wight Festival the first year i ever went and to this day i laugh. I remember watching it on the tv and saying " I don't like this band they are scary" i hadn't even given them a chance but i really like the band now which is rather amusing considering a few years ago i never liked them. They released a new song called 'Redshift' a few weeks ago and honestly i had it on repeat for at least two hours because i couldn't get enough of the song. Also any song that talks about space makes me happy because i am a self confessed space geek. Redshift isn't like Enter Shikari's others songs from their more recent album ' The Mindsweep'. I feel like with this one its more unique and ridiculously catchy. This will be one of my favourite songs for a while. They are also on tour in February so you can catch them if you want.

I have to admit it was pretty hard to choose as there are so many songs that have been released this month. Two that nearly made the cut but didn't were Laura Mvula's song 'Overcome' which is such a brilliant song to comeback with after not releasing anything for a while. The other song that didn't make the cut was Nina Nesbitt's song 'Chewing Gum'. So Nina has changed her sound she's gone from acoustic guitar goodness to synthy pop goodness. Chewing Gum is great if you haven't heard the song you need to because its very good.

If you haven't given these a listen then you should because they are all amazing songs by amazing bands and artists.
